"At some point, our yoga - our lives - look like us. This comes from you connecting to you & creating you out of you." ~ Stråla Yoga
In my mind, Stråla Pop-Up was like a final exam at the end of the semester. I was super nervous yet excited. Here I am, teaching in the mothership, the beautiful studio that I've seen in videos and received my yoga training in with Tara Stiles taking the class. Wild right?!?
All summer I've taught classes in various locations in New York. Some were full and some not a soul showed up. The feedback was always positive and encouraging but I still questioned my capabilities as a yoga guide. I felt that I had to be doing something wrong instead of the fact that it's summer, the weather is amazing so of course people want to be outside, at the beach. As my doubts within myself grew, this amazing opportunity to guide an official class at Stråla NYC came about. After a bit of planning and scheduling things fell into place. The only thing left was for me to make sure I delivered. No pressure, yea right!
But the funny thing about all this is that I was able to remember to bring it back to the heart of it all. How I am is what I have to offer. Being stressed isn't what I'm about nor what I want to offer others. I dove in deeper into who I am and what I have to offer and was brought back to this. "Be authentic. Be you." All I can do is offer a space and means for people to feel good. Once I've done that then I know I have given the best of myself to others. That's it. There is so much peace and joy in that thought.
Stråla Pop-Up made my heart sing! Such a great afternoon in a place that feels like home. Stråla NYC is a beautiful space filled with wonderful people. Thank you all for turning off the outside world for an hour, focusing on what your body needs and allowing me the opportunity to guide you on your journey. Thank you Tara and Mike, I'm beyond grateful.
